Water seems to be a perfect subject for winters in the northwest.

All these images, with the exception of Winter Rain, were taken during the last flood of the Snoqualmie River. Large floods in this area seem to be a regular occurrence these days. They pose problems for the farms of the Snoqualmie Valley, and sometimes for the residents of Carnation. However, they can also be quite beautiful, especially once the driving rain stops and the sun comes out. I found the patterns of the moving water to be especially captivating. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Here are some photos from the EAFA Gallery Exhibit II show.  The Eastside Association of Fine Arts is a local art group that meets monthly in Bellevue. They currently have a wonderful gallery space in the Seattle Design Center in south Seattle. I also edit their newsletter.

It’s a great show, and runs from March 2 – April 9.  These pictures are from the show reception on March 10th. I have five pieces in the show – all of them are textural paint/rust shots.

Stop by and see it if you get a chance.

EAFA Gallery is located in the Seattle Design Center at 5701 Sixth Avenue South, Suite A239 in Seattle. It is free and open to the public Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The facility does not allow children under 12.

I’ll have four pieces in the art auction to benefit Cafe Reiki in Ballard this Saturday, Feb 5th from 5-8pm! Come out for the open house/auction and try some great food and bid on some great art. There will be sixty artworks from various local artists on the auction block. http://www.cafereiki.com/events–workshops.html. I will have two of my poppy portraits and two of my ice abstracts in the event.

Many of you asked me at the Edmonds Arts Festival if I’d be attending the Bellevue ArtsFair show. I had a spot in the show, but a recent family medical issue led me to cancel my participation this year. I have many friends participating in the show though, and it should be a great event.

If you are interested in purchasing my work, you can still contact me directly at 425-922-2935.

I’ll be showing my work at the Bellevue ArtsFair this Friday – Sunday. There are many art festivals in Bellevue this weekend – this is the one in the Bellevue Square Mall parking deck. (Shade is a good thing!)

I have a ton of new work this year, and I will also be selling my greeting cards (most of which are also new work).

I’ll be in booth Q-24 (near the food area).

July 24 – 26, 2009
Friday and Saturday: 9:30 am – 9:30 pm
Sunday: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Stop by and see me!

Here are a few of the new pieces I’ll be showing.

I won’t have a booth at Edmonds Art Fair this year, but I will have one of my images in the juried show. My piece, Ice Fans, was accepted and will be in display in the juried area inside the building while the art festival is going on.
