About the camera

Helen at Fort Worden Helen uses a Canon EOS 400D (Digital Rebel XTi) camera — a digital SLR — with the following lenses:

  • Canon EF-S 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5 USM
  • Canon EF 24-105mm F/4L IS USM
  • Canon EF 50mm F/1.8 II
  • Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 Macro USM

About the prints

Helen believes photographs should be as permanent as any other artwork. She uses the highest quality archival inks and papers, and all archival methods for mounting, framing, and displaying her work.

Every photograph is personally printed by Helen in her studio using an Epson 9800 wide format printer with archival UltraChrome K3 pigmented inks. She uses Epson Enhanced Matte and Epson UltraSmooth Fine Art Papers.

These paper and ink combinations have been rated by Wilhelm Imaging Research with a longevity far exceeding that of traditional photographic printing methods.

Framed photographs are protected with a UV filtering, non-glare glass.

These materials and techniques allow the art to last for decades in its original state.
